Pinterest is often overlooked as a marketing platform, but it’s actually a great way to gain exposure if used well!
Unlike super fast-moving platforms like Instagram or TikTok, where content is quickly replaced and buried, Pinterest content is shown over and over again.
The site works more like a search engine, with images being pinned using keywords, so content has a much longer lifespan!
It's also a free and easy way to direct traffic to your website!
We'll guide you through a few ways to get the most out of your Pinterest page:
1. Great Imagery
First and foremost, Pinterest is a visual platform, so great images will always stand out!
Use bright, bold colours to catch the attention. And remember you can use video too!
2. Optimal Orientation
Ideally, Pinterest images should always be portrait - tall and narrow. This allows you to use the maximum amount of space for each pinned image!

3. Engaging Content
Make sure your content is fun, creative and interesting.
You can also use boards to curate and categorise your content into themes. For example, rather than having a single board called 'photography', increase your chances of being found by organising into sub-catergorise such as 'cocktail photography' or 'food photography'.
4. Keywords
Although good imagery is important, you also need to help people to find them by using keywords. These can be added to your display name, board titles and the image descriptions, the more the merrier!
5. Link to Your Website
One of the great things about Pinterest is you can link pins directly to your website with one click. This is a super quick and easy way to direct relevant traffic to your site!
